South Liverpool NHS Treatment Centre, Garston, Merseyside (2008)

The former Sir Alfred Jones Memorial Hospital was to be demolished to make way for the new NHS Treatment Centre.  As the building was Victorian and it is common for old hospitals to contain bat roosts, ecological survey was needed.  I undertook Extended Phase 1 Habitat, BREEAM and bat surveys and provided technical direction to a junior colleague who completed the ecological appraisal report.

No bat roosts were found, and the project was consented.  South Liverpool NHS Treatment Centre opened to the public on Monday 11th April 2011, offering a full range of local health services.
