Local Wildlife Site monitoring, Strettles Bog, Knowsley (2012)

Driving past, this site looked less than promising, a tangle of dense shrubs.

Happily, it turned out to be rather pleasant, with bluebells, ramsons, dog’s mercury and town hall clock (moschatel) all in flower or nearly so.

There is no official public access to this site and the flora is not visible from the road (even if it were, it wouldn’t be safe to stop there).
