NVC survey, proposed wind farm, Powys (2012)

Another upland NVC survey, this time near Llangurig with lots of boggy, rampant purple moor-grass and valleys that I would think twice about crossing again unless I had waders on !  It rained heavily for three days and being mid-October, was a real challenge to spot and identify as many plant species on site as possible.

Typical habitat for the site

Luckily, although the parts of the site that I went to were very wet, the proposed infrastructure almost completely avoids wetland areas, so I’m hopeful that a suitable solution can be found in the final layout of the scheme.
