Bryophytes of wood-pasture and parkland course

I enjoyed a great day out at Attingham Park, Shrewsbury with seven other students of bryology (mosses and liverworts).  It rained a fair bit, but we still managed to look at species growing on walls, trees, soil and in ponds, quite impressive I think you’ll agree.  I would like to thank our tutor Martin Godfrey for making us key out everything we found, as it’s only by getting used to the key that I’ll ever feel confident identifying bryophytes on my own.  I really felt I was starting to get the hang of it by the end of the day – it’s a great feeling.

The best part is that the course was FREE, courtesy of the FSC’s bio.fell project.  Thank you !
