Aquatic plant survey in east Warrington for PondNet (2013)

It was July and I headed back to the ponds at Gorse Covert and the adjacent farmland to record aquatic plants for the PondNet project.  Simple enough, just record all the vascular plants within the pond so that PondNet can see whether vascular plant diversity correlates in any way with the presence or abundance of key animal species including great crested newt.  I’m keen to see how it turned out and will be in touch with PondNet next year to find out the results.
