Continuing the South Lancs Bat Group tour of reservoirs in Lancashire (have harp traps will travel) we pitched up at Wayoh in the dark and dashed off to set up the harp traps at the woodland edge hoping to catch a lovely crop of bats – we know there are plenty of Myotis species around locally and of course pipistrelles are everywhere so of course we were optimistic, why not ? It was a warm and pleasant night, the midges were biting, everything was perfect.
No bats 😦
We caught nothing at the adjacent reservoir either, last time I was in this area. Come on bats, where are you ????
Luckily there was plenty of human company to be had and we had a good old catch up instead.
